Can I ask general software questions in support?

The best place to ask how-to or software questions is in the CG Cookie Community.  

You may have access to several groups within the community or only the Commons depending on your subscription level.  Either the Inner Circle or The Commons are a great place to ask your Blender questions in the General chat.  In these spaces you will be able to reach fellow community members, CG Cookie educators and the CG Cookie crew.

Everyone has access to The Commons.  This space will allow you to cast the widest net to gather more answers, opinions and suggestions aka solutions to your Blender questions.
